Volunteering
Woking Athletic Club is built by its people. From coaching and officiating to organising events and supporting behind the scenes, the club exists because volunteers step forward and get involved.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do — and as the club continues to grow, we’re actively looking for more people to join the team. Whether you have a few hours a year or want to play a more regular role, you’ll be warmly welcomed and fully supported.

Officials
Officials make competition possible. From cross country to track events, they ensure races run safely, fairly, and smoothly — turning months of training into meaningful competition.
Officials also play a crucial role in league matches, directly contributing points for the team in competitions such as SAL and UKYDL. Even attending a small number of fixtures makes a real difference.
No prior experience is required. If you’re curious about officiating, we’ll support you from your first event onwards.
Coaches
All our coaches are volunteers — some former athletes, many still competing themselves — united by a desire to give something back to the sport.
We’re keen to expand the range of events and sessions we offer, and welcome both lead and assistant coaches (aged 16+). Whether you already hold a qualification or are starting from scratch, we’ll help you develop your skills and gain coaching qualifications along the way.
Coaching at Woking AC is a chance to shape athletes’ journeys — and be part of something bigger.
Committee
Behind every session and competition is a dedicated committee keeping the club running smoothly. From administration and finance to safeguarding and events, these roles are vital to the club’s success.
You don’t need to be an athletics expert — just willing to help and be part of the team.
